HOW I WILL ADVOCATE FOR YOUNG BRITISH COLUMBIANS
-
Developing the next generation of leaders. Three decades of teaching and mentoring university students shape how Blair governs: read the evidence, hear the people affected, then decide.
-
A fiscal plan that protects young taxpayers. Blair authored the Long-Term Fiscal Responsibility Plan adopted by Council in March 2026, with debt reduction targets, a reserve rebuilding schedule and a contingency for a development slowdown.
-
Housing for people starting out. Practical options for young families and renters, and a permitting process that stops adding cost to every home built.
-
Neighbourhoods built for how young people live. Walkable communities with expanded transit, bike and pedestrian routes, and parks and recreation that keep pace with growth. He delivered the Aldergrove Community Centre and Outdoor Water Park.
-
Schools and green space planned ahead. He secured a staff report on eligible Willoughby school sites and led the Community Forest Management Strategy to protect tree canopy as the Township grows.
"I have spent my career working with young adults and watching them decide where to build their lives. Too many are being priced out before they get the chance. I returned to Council to bring real financial oversight back to the table, because the debt we take on today is paid by our children and grandchildren. YBC4BG asks candidates to govern for the long term, and that is the commitment I am making."
