I’m honoured to be endorsed by Young British Columbians for Better Governance (YBC4BG).

Good governance matters to everyone, especially the next generation who will live with the decisions we make today. Saanich deserves a Council that is accountable to citizens, transparent about decisions and spending, and willing to ask the tough questions about whether we are getting the results our communities need while planning responsibly for the future.

For over 22 years, I’ve partnered with residents, community non-profits and government to protect what matters to our community and turn concerns into practical action. In 2004, I worked with residents and multiple levels of government to address unsafe school travel routes, helping move the Burnside Road Streetscape project forward, completed in 2008. I also helped lead the ongoing effort to protect Panama Flats bringing residents, non-government organizations and community together to preserve this important natural area for future generations.

Having worked professionally in information technology, including as Director of Local Government leading modernization projects across finance, planning, permitting, licensing and asset management, I understand the processes, challenges and responsibilities of municipal government firsthand. I’ve served on Saanich’s Natural Areas, Trails and Parks Advisory Committee and today I lead the Carey Area Residents Association and Saanich Community Association Network, collaborating with residents, community associations, municipal staff and elected officials to turn community priorities into concrete action.

That’s the kind of practical, accountable leadership I will bring to Saanich Council: protecting what matters while planning for what’s next.
