Shumail Javed:
Candidate for Langley Township Council

Shumail Javed is a community leader, technology executive, and candidate for Township of Langley Council. As a Willoughby resident, Shumail is passionate about building a Township that is fiscally responsible, well-planned, and connected; where families, businesses, and future generations can thrive.
With more than 13 years of leadership experience in the technology sector, Shumail brings a practical, results-driven approach to solving complex challenges. Beyond his professional career, he is deeply involved in the community, volunteering with local organizations, supporting charities, attending community events, and building meaningful relationships across Langley. He believes the best decisions come from listening to residents, leading with integrity, and ensuring growth is matched with the infrastructure, services, and accountability our community deserves.
Young people deserve more than promises; they deserve opportunities to build their future right here in Langley.
As a member of Council, I will champion safe and vibrant spaces where youth can learn, connect, and grow. That means supporting recreation, sports, arts, culture, and community programs while advocating for stronger partnerships with local businesses, schools, and post-secondary institutions to expand employment, mentorship, and leadership opportunities.
I also believe young people should have a meaningful voice in shaping the future of our Township. Their ideas, energy, and perspectives are essential to building a stronger, more inclusive Langley. My commitment is to ensure that today's youth have every opportunity to become tomorrow's leaders.
