Dauna Kennedy is a proven community leader, non-profit executive, and dedicated advocate running for Vernon City Council. Having raised two sons as a single mother after losing her husband at a young age, Dauna brings a deeply personal perspective to local government. Today, her two adult sons are recent university graduates who are navigating Vernon's modern landscape firsthand—facing the real, everyday challenges of local job opportunities, housing costs, transit, and finding vibrant community third spaces.

For nearly two decades, Dauna has delivered concrete results for Vernon:

  • 35+ Years in Non-Profit & Budgeting:Managed tight non-profit and charitable budgets, proving that every dollar matters and that City Hall can operate with fiscal discipline while still delivering key services.

  • Delivering Major Cultural Infrastructure:Guided the Vernon Public Art Gallery from a local organization into a recognized regional leader, successfully co-leading community campaigns for major facility investments like the upcoming Greater Vernon Cultural Centre.

  • Championing Business & Economic Growth:Served 7 years on the Board of Directors of the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce (President 2016/17), actively fighting for regional economic development, small business support, and job creation.
