Kim has chaired the South Fraser regional health board and the Langley community health council, served as a trustee at Langley Memorial Hospital, and represented the Township on the Metro Vancouver Regional Board. She was founding president of the North Otter Performing Arts Association. She and her husband Bob raised their three children in the Salmon River Uplands.

HOW I WILL ADVOCATE FOR YOUNG BRITISH COLUMBIANS

  1. Thirty years in the classroom with young adults. Kim still teaches at KPU, which keeps her working every week with the people who will inherit what Council builds.

  2. Schools built on time. She fast-tracked the building permit for the School District’s 76 Avenue project so school construction could proceed, and secured a report on eligible Willoughby school sites.

  3. Places for kids to play. Her More Great Playgrounds motion directs staff to plan up to five new or substantially improved playgrounds across the Township.

  4. Not passing today’s debt to tomorrow. She co-sponsored the Long-Term Fiscal Responsibility Plan requiring debt reduction targets and timelines, and requested a provincial audit and governance review of the 2024 and 2025 budgets.

  5. A livable future. Protecting farmland and tree canopy, and preparing for the flooding and severe weather young residents will be living with for decades.

"My students are about to inherit whatever we build. I have spent 27 years at the Council table insisting that decisions be made in the open, on the evidence, and with the long-term cost in view. Those are the same principles YBC4BG brings to its work, and I would be proud to stand with an organization that wants young British Columbians in the room when those decisions are made."
