Dr. Margaret Mubanda is a recipient of the YWCA Women of Distinction Award and the BC Medal of
Good Citizenship. She worked for 21 years as a resource social worker, has been a dedicated foster
parent, and serves on the City of Surrey's Livability and Public Safety Committee. Margaret has spent her
career with the families the system is supposed to serve, and she knows the difference between a
program that exists on paper and one that reaches a kid in time. She is running for council to bring that
experience into the room where budgets are set, with a focus on strong services, public safety that
starts with prevention, and a city where every neighbourhood gets its share.
